A lazy day in Cunnamulla

We arrived in Cunnamulla yesterday and stayed in free camping at the pub. We had dinner at the pub and it took one hour for our meal to arrive. We had spring rolls, chips and a small pizza to share. We decided to have a lazy day. We went to the playground for a while and did some shopping for food. I tried to get my blog up to date. Tomorrow we will go to Eulo, which is a very small town.

Cotton Country

At Dirranbandi we went to the Anzac Ceremony. All the groups in town were there and put on wreaths. There were at least 25 wreaths and little boxes. The school kids read something about the history. The kids came from Hebel, where Nana was the principal in 1992. We went to Hebel yesterday and Nana talked to the teachers. I played in the sandpit with some kids.

Mining at Lightning Ridge

Today at Lightning Ridge we went to a walk in mine. We saw how it used to be when the miners crawled through little spaces with a candle. There was a video about how opal is formed.

Goondiwindi

This morning it was cold and foggy. Nana had set the alarm by mistake.
I heard 5 roosters before we left. In fact there were lots of animals: horses, sheep, cows, and an emu farm. Today we saw at least 20 dead animals on the road. There were also lots of fruit and vegetable farms: apples, grapes, cabbages, pumpkins, and beans.

Gunsynd was a champion racehorse from Goondiwindi. We saw his statue by the river. There is a Gunsynd street, cafe, motel and hotel. If you go across the bridge you will be in NSW.
